The call for papers deadline has been extended until March 30.
Istanbul Medipol University Foreign Languages Coordinatorship would like to announce their call for conference papers in the areas of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Cultural Competence.
Suggested areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
- teacher training/CPD in SEL
approaches to SEL in K-12 schools - approaches to SEL in tertiary education
- addressing issues of diversity and inclusion related to SEL
- state/private school inclusion of SEL
- geographical/cultural/international perspectives and practices
- approaches to student well-being
- SEL in online classroom settings
- encouraging cultural competence within ELT
- merging cultures in multi-lingual classrooms
- SEL and mental health
- SEL and digital/social media
Abstracts of 150-300 words are invited by 24 March 2023. Contributions may take the form of oral presentations, workshops or poster presentations. All submitted proposals will be evaluated by the academic committee.

Following the conference, selected papers will be considered for publication.
Oral presentations:
Oral presentations should be a maximum of 15 minutes, to be followed by time for questions.
Workshops:
Workshops should run for a maximum of 45 minutes and should actively engage participants.
Posters:
Posters will be displayed throughout the day with a dedicated poster session in the afternoon for questions and discussion. Poster presenters must be present at their poster stand during this time.
